LONDON — The UK government's Chevening Scholarship programme will open its 2027 application cycle on August 4, 2026, with a deadline of October 6 at 11:00 UTC, according to the programme's official timeline.
Running since 1983, Chevening has built a global alumni network of more than 55,000 professionals across over 160 countries, including former heads of state and Supreme Court justices. Winners receive fully funded tuition, a monthly stipend, travel costs, an arrival allowance, and visa fees for a one-year master's degree at any UK university.
Applicants are evaluated on three criteria: demonstrated leadership impact, networking ability, and a clear, credible post-degree plan. Candidates are encouraged to begin drafting application essays well before the portal opens, given the volume and competitiveness of applications each cycle.
