Oxford Retains World's No. 1 Ranking for Tenth Straight Year
LONDON — The University of Oxford has held the top spot in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for a tenth consecutive year. This year's list evaluates 2,191 institutions across 115 countries and territories.
Princeton climbed to a joint third-place finish, its best-ever result and the only US university to post its strongest showing this year. China placed five universities in the global top 40, up from three the previous year, while Hong Kong recorded a record six institutions in the top 200, driven by improved teaching reputation and student-to-staff ratios.
Editors note rankings are a useful reference point but should be weighed alongside program fit, living costs, and post-study work rights when choosing where to apply.
