Riyadh's International School Boom Continues as Misk Schools Marks 200+ Graduates

Saudi Arabia's push to expand international-standard schooling in Riyadh keeps gathering pace. Misk Schools celebrated the graduation of more than 200 students this year, an institution built around technology-focused learning that's become one of the more visible symbols of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 education push. Meanwhile King's College Riyadh shared a fresh construction update on its new Sedra campus, still on track for an August 2027 opening, and Aldenham Prep School Riyadh opened as the third school established under the government's International Schools Attraction Programme.

The pattern underneath these individual school stories is the more interesting one: Saudi Arabia's school-age population now runs nearly three times the size of the rest of the Gulf combined, according to real-estate advisory Knight Frank, and the Kingdom is actively courting international private-school brands and operators to keep pace with that demand rather than relying solely on public-system expansion. For a country historically associated with strict public-education control, the sheer number of new international and private schools opening in Riyadh this year says something about how quickly that model is being supplemented, if not quietly rebalanced.
