Azerbaijani Students Bring Home Medals from International Science Olympiads
BAKU — Azerbaijani school students won medals at two international science competitions this month. At the International Biology Olympiad in Vilnius, Lithuania (July 12–19), Azerbaijan's team took one bronze medal and three commendation awards. A separate delegation competed at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Tashkent, Uzbekistan during the same period.
The results add to a wider push by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education to expand international academic exchange. Under the state's 2022–2028 programme for sending young Azerbaijanis to study at prestigious foreign universities, 4,405 funded degree programmes are now available across 221 universities in 32 countries for the current academic year — including, for the first time, institutions in 11 additional countries.
